OK, so here's my situation: I need to record some audio to mp3, m4a, aac, well, you get the idea.

What I need is to record the audio that is playing through my computer speakers. I was told Audacity would do that, but I just tried it, and there doesn't seem to be a way to change its input from anything other than the microphone.

Any ideas?

Audio Hijack does what you're looking to do... at least based on how you described your needs it does.
