OK, so here's my situation: I need to record some audio to mp3, m4a, aac, well, you get the idea.
What I need is to record the audio that is playing through my computer speakers. I was told Audacity would do that, but I just tried it, and there doesn't seem to be a way to change its input from anything other than the microphone. Any ideas? |

Audio Hijack does what you're looking to do... at least based on how you described your needs it does.
