Nice work on the speed holes.
Subtle, but nice. It's the little things that make this place the way it is. |

Two themes in one week! You spoil us, Brad.
P.S. Is the last one Nader, Keyes, or Barr? |

But I went to Bob Barr's website, and he, um, doesn't really have much of a logo, so that's understandable. Maybe there could be a picture of Babar, like the Daily Show put up. On a side note, since I've reviewed the major candidate's websites...am I the only one who thinks that Bob Barr's splash page is eerily similar to the splash page BarackObama.com had for most of the campaign? A simple blue email sign-up page, with the "Join Now" and "Continue to Website" buttons in the exact same spots...and good god, is that Gotham? It's also really slow, but perhaps that's to be expected for Election Day Eve. and i guess i've known it all along / the truth is, you have to be soft to be strong |

I'm a little overwhelmed right now. I just watched Obama's acceptance speech, and you know what? I'm happy. He will be a good president, because I honestly in my heart believe he's a good guy. Happy. Happy that the world might be a little better tomorrow than it was yesterday. So it goes. |

Out of curiosity, Brad-
Did you have McCain's name ready to go... just in case? And what about Barr? |

Actually, yeah, I wanted to make sets for each potential victor, but I completely forgot. Just shortly after McCain's speech and my rum-kahlua egg nog ran dry was when I realized that time was short to make one for Obama. I literally just finished saving and uploading seconds before his acceptance speech started.

That's cool. At least you squeaked it in. I was just curious how you would have had displayed them. Not that they had a chance by a long shot anyway.

Would've been the same concept. Last name set in the campaign's font and the campaign's colors. Obama used Gotham and McCain used Optima.

But fonts say a lot about their subjects!
http://www.typography.com/ask/showBlog.php?blogID=79 What font says 'Change'? Don't even joke about such a possibility. The quality of this board depends on the quality of the posts. To be brutally honest, I couldn't in good conscience vote for anybody who drew happy faces instead of dots over their vowels.

And I like it. To be honest, it's Optima that has horrid connotations for me. Not because of McCain, but because of Penguin's 1960s "panic top."* That font is forever ruined for me, and I don't think McCain's militaristic logo will help. *In the 1960s, and in between art directors, Penguin's market share started slipping. Some obviously unartistic exec decided that the best thing to do would be to slap "A PENGUIN BOOK" across the top of every cover in 24-pt Optima, with absolutely no regard for the design of the rest of the book. Penguins had previously been notable for their design restraint, and in many ways the "panic top" signaled the end of that era, as the 70s brought many more unabashedly "selling" covers to the publisher. and i guess i've known it all along / the truth is, you have to be soft to be strong |
