I too would love this and any other past keynotes that anyone has. PLEASE e-mail or pm me if you have them!
Thanks!

Cube of Movies has a few keynotes. I also have some, but they're just too big to host.

I have a few keynotes that I'd happily share with anyone interested. Send me a PM or contact me on iChat.

My collection:

MacWorld Boston 1997
Apple Event Seybold Expo 1999
Apple Special Event 1999
MacWorld NY 1999
MacWorld SF 2000
MacWorld SF 2001
MacWorld SF 2005
WWDC 2005

I also have the 'Power of X'-presentation and an audience recording of the infamous Mac OS 9 funeral if that's to anyone's liking.

Would it be possible to host any of those on AN's server? Maybe host one a week so that the space and bandwidth requirements aren't overwhelming.

Just an idea. I don't know if it's all feasible.

Come waste your time with me

Yeah, that's a good idea. I wouldn't mind seeing a few of those...

Y'know, I just went and looked, and I do indeed have install CDs for every version of MacOS X starting with one of the early Atlas builds. Keen.

No videos though.

Okay, after reviewing my external FW HD, here's a list of the keynotes I have:

1984 Mac intro
Steve Jobs doing a NeXT demo in '92
MW Boston '97
MWNY '98, '99, '00, '02
Seybold '99
The iMovie/iMac Special Event in '99
MWSF '99, '00, '04, '05
The white iBook intro
The Xserve intro
Apple Expo Paris '00, '03, '04
WWDC '04, '05
The iTMS intro
The U2 iPod/iPod photo intro

Holy crap, that's a lot of stuff (~5 gigs).

Edit: Oh, and would it be possible to split the keynote discussions off from the "Five years of OS X" discussion? They aren't really that related.

Sure, I think we can not start some torrents for these.

In fact, I'm not starting one right now.

another thought the files could be uploaded to www.filefront.com they say you get unlimited free hosting for files, must be worth a look by the people who have the videos.

No worries, I was just making a play on the ambiguity in the sentence. I knew what you meant.

No, even one would be too much. Some of those things are several HUNDRED megabytes in size. Besides, I don't want to get AppleNova into legal trouble over something like this. The videos themselves have a message about the beginning about not distributing them.

Agreed. Done.

Also, for what it's worth, I did find the MWSF 2000 video a long time ago. If Cube of Movies doesn't have something, use Google for a while and you may be surprised at what you can find.

The quality of this board depends on the quality of the posts. The only way to guarantee thoughtful, informative discussion is to write thoughtful, informative posts. AppleNova is not a real-time chat forum. You have time to compose messages and edit them before and after posting.

ok you can upload your videos to this new filefront acount so we can all share the keynotes of years gone past. the file size is limited to 1gig but it has unlimited bandwith which is good. i know uploading large files is slow but it is for the benefit of everyone.
(it apears the uploading is down for now but i hope it will be back soon)

acount details:
username= keynotesteve
password= 238179

url for filefront www.filefront.com

yes please upload any apple videos you adverts, keynotes and other stuff. if you want to create your own acount you can i just thought it would be simple to use one acount but then i didn't read about the groups and stuff. plus it might faster to find the vidoes if there all in one acount.

iReview sucked, KidSafe was unfeasible given the rate of growth and change in the Internet, and no one really used either of them.

The 1997 MW Boston keynote is finished (and extremely interesting) as well. Good job... maybe I could upload one of my old keynotes also...

Macworld Boston '97 was 133.8 megs. I'm currently uploading Macworld New York '99, which is 64.9 megs. It was the one with a Halo preview (shipping next year!), the iBook, and Phil Schiller's awesome jumping-from-20-feet-holding-an-iBook demo.

Really fast University connections are fun.
