planning to buy a spare power adapter for my Macbook Pro. will the 60w adapter introduced with Macbook be effective? Will it take longer to charge than the 85w that shipped with MacBook Pro?
Prefer the smaller footprint if feasible. Thanks in advance. |

60Watts probably can't power the macbook pro AND charge it. But it may charge with the laptop off.

The user manual clearly states that you should no do so. It will certainly void the warranty.
Whether it will actually damage the MBP is an open question, that I dare not answer. But why risk a costly notebook, just to have a smaller (and weaker) power brick? Sounds like crazy talk to me. |
