Hey, I just switched over to macs last july when I bought my 12'' G4 Powerbook. I absolutely love it!!

I'm still debating whether or not I should get the apple protection plan or not though..

What exactly does it cover?
Is it worth it?
Money is kind of an issue, but I could proly save up for it, however.
What should I do?
Can you please HELP me??

1. It covers hardware failures and problems caused by manufacturing defects. If you drop your PowerBook and it breaks, you're out of luck. If the screen breaks or the optical drive stops working and you didn't do anything to cause it, they will fix it for free. Basically it's an extension of the standard one-year warranty to three years.

2. Probably worth it. If you use your PowerBook a lot, especially on the road, it will likely see a lot of wear and tear. Even though specific cases of damage from abuse won't be covered by AppleCare, it will cover problems resulting from normal use. If you use the hinge all the time and it breaks eventually, that will be covered. For laptops at least, you probably want AppleCare.

3. Also see if you can buy it on an educational discount. AppleCare has good educational pricing. And of course you can wait until a year after you bought the PowerBook to buy it.

4. I'd really recommend buying it at some point. Try to save up for it. Unless you're planning on getting rid of this thing within a few months, you should get AppleCare.
