OK, the UK & US Apple Stores are down (1pm UK time).....

Powerbook speed bumps or something even more interesting?

I'm going for the PB speedbumps that Think Secret mentioned a few weeks ago.....

Wow! It WAS a Powerbook speedbump, but a pretty good one too!

All models come with 512Mb standard.
Hard drives 5400rpm up to 100Gb
SMS (Sudden Motion Sensor) technology built in.
Track pads now have scrolling capability.
iLife '05 as standard (expected really)
Processors from 1.5Ghz minimum up to 1.67Ghz max.
Combined Analogue/Digital i/o on the 17" PB.
Airport standard accross the range.
8xDVD+/DVD-/DVDRW!!!

Large price reductions too

The spec whores may not be happy it's not a G5 yet, but I think that there's a bunch of serious horsepower in that lineup!

Just reading about the scrolling capability now built in to the trackpads: Use two fingers in a scrolling motion up or down & it scrolls a page.... I hope this is merely a software tweak that can be applied accross the range rather than a new piece of trackpad technology: I'd love that in my 15" PB as a Software Update!

Apple store is back up, so I guess use the "New PowerBooks" thread...
