You guys know if its possible to sync my PB over a network or otherwise to my new iMac G5? It would be really cool if this was possible, as I would like to make changes while out and about with the PB and them come home and sync the changes to my desktop.

you need .mac to do that... iSync (which comes with the service) works great for stuff like that.

If you do end up getting .mac, consider using my email address as a referral (psantora@mac.com) you can save me $20 next year.

.Mac is totally dependant on a live internet connection, correct? If so, that makes the prospect less appealing as I just want to sync calendar events, etc.

well, yes everything would be proxied through your iDisk... but it would still provide the functionality you are looking for

you could also look into some 3rd party syncing programs like rsync (cli)...
you could set it up through CCC (carbon copy cloner, a backup application) to "clone" your iCal folders... but it would be somewhat complicated and involved along with no guarantee it will work...
