I was flipping channels when I thought I saw a spoof of Star Trek on our local ABC affiliate. But then I realized it was a real episode, but then I saw a shot of the Enterprise take a REALLY close pass to camera and thought "Why, that doesn't look right"... and THEN I saw that the nacelles were actually colored up and spinning.... and THEN I realized that the planets looked more real and THEN I found this link....
Wow. Somebody wake up Brad. Quick. |

I THOUGHT SO!
I noticed the high-quality space shots when I caught classic Trek on a local channel a few weeks ago too. I figured Paramount had gone and remastered them, but I didn't bother trying to verify it any way. Thanks for finding that link, Drew. It's good to see that they are staying as true to the original as possible instead of going all Lucas on us. The quality of this board depends on the quality of the posts. The best part is that they're airing them on good old fashioned BROADCAST TELEVISION. I feel so warm and fuzzy right now. There's finally real Star Track back on TV.

Rather disappointing so far. Supposedly, they're rendering a new Enterprise, which will start appearing in November. Maybe next week, when they show "The Trouble with Tribbles."
The last couple of weeks very little has been changed at all, even things that could have used a bit of updating. |

Here are some links I found:
Some screenshots from the episode I saw ("Catspaw"). The YouTube "trailer" that shows them re-recording the original song, it'll make the hair stand up on the back of your neck. Share and Enjoy! |

Too bad what they've been airing are the shorter, syndication versions. I'll stick to the G4 run - at least you get the entire episodes that way.
