Heh. I would never have considered that.

I've drank more in this past week than maybe the rest of the year combined. The detox begins now.

Here are some of the things we saw/did:

• The Paris catacombs.
• Basilique du Sacré-Cœur
• Centre Pompidou
• A wander around Monmartre, including having a drink at Les Deux Moulins (The Two Windmills) famous as a setting for the film Amelie
• A wander around the red-light district, Pigalle, as *ahem* detailed on the previous page.
• Wine, bread, and Camembert beneath the Eiffel Tower.

Also, it rained a lot in Paris, and it was kinda cold, especially on Monday. I got home to one of the warmest days of the summer here and ended up being stuck in traffic for 3 hours in awful heat. And I thought it'd be refreshingly pleasant there compared to the non-stop rain we've had here for weeks.

Another something: People feeling the need to post while drunk should realize there's nothing more boring than being sober around someone that's drunk. That goes for real life as well as message boards.

Depends on the people, and how drunk they are. Some people are great fun when their sloshed, even if you're sober. As someone who has quit drinking (see above comment) I can say that I make it a point to be friendly with these people, and I have plenty of fun with them.

Some people are huge assholes or go totally comatose when they drink too much, and I avoid these people when they are drunk.

I quit drinking 7 years ago, and I haven't missed it one bit. I think my 16 year old self might have cringed at this, but I love being sober. Of course, if I told my 16 year old self I was getting laid, he would have been satisfied with the changes I've made .

Touring the countryside pretty much. We went to Stirling, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee. I think I've got food poisoning from a Mexican restaurant we went to last night. Not pleasant. Tasted good though!

The #1 cause of food poisoning the world over... cheap Mexican and Chinese restaurants. Food sits out all day, spoils, then they cover it up with MSG. Awful stuff, food poisoning. Hope you feel better soon.
