My wife and I are in France, travelling with my wife's iBook, G4, tiger. Our hotel provides
internet access. She gets her email by downloading from the iBook mail program.
I try, without success, to get my email, by going to the webmail site of our email
provider (windstream.net). Their server does not respond. Queries to windstream
have produced nothing. My question: can I set up a second email account on the
iBook, with a second postage stamp in the sidebar, that would produce my email,
without mucking up my wife's successful email access?

Just set up another account in her Mail.app. There'll be two inboxes in it. Now if you wish to hide your mail from her eyes, then just create another user account on the iBook and put your mail settings in it.

So to answer your question, no second mail icon. Adding a second account won't muck up your wife's mail either. Do this in the accounts tab of Mail Pref.

A stupid question: how do I do this? I see no such option in the accounts tab
of Mail/Preferences.
