I'm not sure if this should in GamingNova or the Programmer's Nook, so I'm compromising and putting it here...
I found this article, "Real Life Tron on an Apple IIgs", which reminded my friend of a game he used to play called Core War, which exploits unprotected memory access (in a VM) for its game mechanic. I don't think I have the time to pick up another game right now, but maybe when I get bored with Guild Wars 2 again... Anyway, I thought there might enough developers/nerds here that someone might appreciate the links. When I was a kid, people who did wrong were punished, restricted, and forbidden. Now, when someone does wrong, all of the rest of us are punished, restricted, and forbidden... and the one who did the wrong is counselled and "understood" and fed ice cream. |
