Bentonville man threatens suit over book on lesbian sex

This poor guys 2 teenage sons 'found' a book on lesbian sex in the library and now he says they are very disturbed by the book and need to be given $10,000 each to make up for it.

What kind of sick, perverted, demented teenage boy would NOT want to have a copy of this book?

Speaking of which, I'm off to the library right now.

his 14- and 16-year-old sons found "The Whole Lesbian Sex Book" while looking for books on military academies
Um. I don't know how libraries in Arkansas are sorted, but I would expect the book was nowhere near a "book on military academics". And even if it had been, could the title "Whole Lesbian Sex" be any more of an obvious hint that, maybe, just possibly, the book has in fact nothing whatsoever to do with "military academics"?

Bullshit. The sons took the books because they were intrigued, and the father was so pissed that it wasn't good enough for him to punish his children; no, he had to threaten the city as well.

Good god. I can't imagine what else he'd want removed if he had his way.

Yeah, this guy is an idiot. Like chucker says, that wouldn't be filed anywhere near the other types of books (military academies). But even if it was, by accident, I'm assuming a 14- and 16-year-old could read well enough to discern from the title, The Whole Lesbian Sex Book, there probably wasn't a section in there about West Point or VMI.

The only reason for "sleepless nights" are from the boys staying up all night in an endless fap-fap/"hoisting the sails" session over what they "accidentally saw" in said book. I'll bet you $100 a) the boys went looking for the book, and b) were not offended by anything they saw.

In any case, since one or both of the boys might accidentally turn into a lesbian over this, the old man should raise his asking price. Just to be safe, you know.

Was it illustrated? And if so, was it hot or not so hot lesbians?

I really need to know this before I can have an opinion on this.

Heh heh.

Thanks chucker.

The review also had a link to a book about making love to yourself.

I don't even know how two women can make love, unless they sort of, you know... scissor.

Joke about how southerners are meant to be 'dumb', 'inbred' and 'hick-ish'.

Were the boys more turned on by the naked chick on the front, the lesbian sex inside or the dog on the Amazon page?

Seriously though, it's not THAT bad.

The book could have been placed in the wrong section - not the library's fault. If the father/the kids are going to be that worked up about it, then they need to realise that it was the kid's fault - they should have known that it was not a book about the military.

If it was me in the kid's situation - that book might need to be renewed.

I thought the fact that this book was in the "military academy" section was priceless. While the article didn't say that's where it was, only that's where the boys were supposed to be looking. For some reason I think they ventured off and go caught. Then they decided to cry wolf. Stupid father for try to slap a lawsuit on this one.

I completely agree. Young boys, of that age, and they went exploring a bit and got busted. Their bullcrap story is what they floated to get themselves out from under it, and their old man bought it and decides to get sue-happy.

I hope the library or whoever it is fights this tooth-and-nail, and the dad not only loses/gets his suit tossed out of court, but is on the hook for the court costs and generally wasting everyone's time.

You guys know me...I'm fairly conservative on many matters and am not much one for "everything goes, everyone can get offended and STFU", blah, blah. Usually I'm going to side with those on the more traditional, straight-laced, meat-n-taters side of things (and I don't apologize for it).

But this particular situation, to me, seems a pretty clear case of someone just wanting to make a fuss for little-to-no-reason. Even if the book was legitimately in that section (I still doubt that), a) the two kids had to see the title/cover pic and STILL open it up to see it (hellooooo...does that not factor in somewhere in any of this?), and b) even if they did, all kidding aside, they're hardly "scarred for life". Worse thing that happened, they got a little aroused or saw something they'd never seen before.

Happens to me 50-65x a day...

A dad who wasn't a nutjob/pot-stirrer would simply explain to his sons what he thinks about this or that, and to maybe "be more careful in their library pursuits" if that's what he feels strongly about. But this "suing for $20,000" is 110% horseshit, and I hope the judge sees fit to order the bailiff to give this guy a smack or two.

I remember finding a book like that in our university library. The pages were kind of stained though, and some were stuck together.

Why wasn't this book in the library when *I* was growing up?!?

Boys these days have it so hard. Hot teachers sleeping around. Lesbian sex books in the library. Porn available all over the place. Life must be tough.

If it's not red and showing substantial musculature, you're wearing it wrong.
