I have 10.4.9 and I want to install Ada (yes, the very old programming language). I need X11 apparently to run it. So, the problem is that a) I can't find X11.app on my system (even with Spotlight) and b) When I tried to install X11 again (thinking it's not already on my computer), I get a message saying a newer version already exists. I saw some threads discussing this from last year, but couldn't really figure out how to fix this.

My X11 is located in the Utility archive.

You need to install it off your system disks.
The version available for download is for Panther only. Make sure you unselect unselect everything except X11 or it installs everything again, taking ages |
