A while back, I replaced my Airport Extreme base station. I gave the new one the same name as the old one and most things with the new one work properly. But (what I presume to be) the old one continues to show up in my Airport utility. Oddly, my new AEB doesn't let me set up a guest network nor can do I connection sharing through DHCP because I keep getting IP address conflicts. I'm thoroughly confused about what's going on.
Any pointers? The AEB is running the latest firmware (7.5.2) and I'm running Lion Server 10.7.1. If it's not red and showing substantial musculature, you're wearing it wrong. |

Strange stuff.
I think you're gonna want to delete a few things from your user Library. (I'm on my Snow Leopard Mac right now - note that anything named using "Airport" may have been changed to "WiFi" in Lion.) Start in Application Support/Apple/AirPort/Configurations Delete any files in that folder. Note that there may be duplicates currently. Then, also from you user Library, go to Preferences and delete the following: com.apple.airport.adminutility.plist com.apple.airport.airportutility.plist com.apple.airport.assistant.plist let's just say, anything that starts with com.apple.airport Log out and back in for good measure, and then try the AirPort Utility again. |
