I was especially impressed with the removal of the "No Parking" sign in that one video.

I was impressed by everything !! The first shot with the corrected exposure, the tree thing, the shake removal and the no parking sign were the most wow shit !!! What about the high resolution !! This is some serious shit !! ( !! abuse )

That's crazy... so cool, but imagine how easily this could be abused to show basically whatever you want.

NASA and the, um, security services, have been using a similar trick for almost a decade.

VISAR

Improves video down to a tenth of a pixel accuracy in some cases.

Way cool... my original post didn't show up here but I am interested in working on this type of thing in my current projects. Thanks for the linkage, dood!

Stacking images to pump resolution and subtract artifacts is an old trick in Astrophotography software. (RegiStax, etc.)

High-end post software has been able to paste or remove -while tracking- from video for years.

This seems like a logical development... but still cool.

Not quite Blade Runner, but that's a few cycles up the dev chain. Mix it with Seadragon...
