Anyone else watch this series when it came out in 2005? I found it quite enjoyable myself, with all the intrigue, luscious sets, battles and such. I found out by sheer luck/accident that season 2 starts Sunday at 9PM EST. Anyone else here watch this show?

That is being very generous. The show takes quite a large amount of liberties with various aspects of this and that. That being said, it is still a highly detailed, 'epic', drama with some good characters, acting, and plot arcs. Not the best TV I've seen, but it's not too shabby either. Titus Pullo is my favorite character.

Yeah, I really got into the first season. But now I don't have HBO.

I really enjoyed this show and am looking forward to the 2nd series.
I visited Rome a few months after it aired, and it was really interesting to see the Roman Fora, etc where so many of the historic events took place. Wikipedia has some good articles on the Roman Civil War and the main characters of the time, which I found very interesting, taken alongside the TV show. N |
