Just a heads up. From here on out, signature lines longer than three lines will be open game to any bored admin.

Please keep them at three lines or less, or else someone else will do it for you, and will get creative while they're at it.

PS. Don't mess with the size tags in your sig either. Any size tags will be deleted with prejudice.

Also, note that this rule has been in the posting guidelines since Day One.

And for those of you posting your multi-line computer setup in your signature, note that there's a whole profile box dedicated for that purpose.

The quality of this board depends on the quality of the posts. The only way to guarantee thoughtful, informative discussion is to write thoughtful, informative posts. AppleNova is not a real-time chat forum. You have time to compose messages and edit them before and after posting.

I'm not interested in it personally, but what about making the text *smaller*?

Haha... you got pwned by the wrong tiled background.

Edit: Aw, shucks... it doesn't work quite right on either one. I'm disappointed in you.

Works fine for me (on murbot's post, at least). I'm using the latest nightly build of Camino in 10.4.6.

Heh, that's funny. Webkit (it happens in Safari and Shiira) must parse the image with color correction or something funny. Yeah, it shows up right on Mur's post in my version of Camino, too.

Webkit (with 10.3.9 and whatever ColorSync profile I have) has its color as #cdd0da... almost smack dab in between the two backgrounds. So much for my slam.

Isn't the number of lines dependent on the window size?

Yes, but that didn't stop some small-screened people from whining.

Why the hell do you need HTML? What do you want to do that you can't do with VB Code? Seriously, there are plenty of reasons that the admins don't allow HTML here.

Assume that if any one line is over 100 characters, it's longer than a single line. (not including Vb coding of course)

Oh I never paid attention to this thread until today when I noticed my signature was MIA.... never noticed the thing about the size tags (it was making the text smaller you guys!!!).

Anyway, I removed the size tags.
What forms must I fill out to regain said taggage?

My sadness is as large as a goat.

EDIT: Nevermind, they just came back. Sheesh.

Actually there's also a new Vb upgrade that no longer shows your sig. if your post is under 30 words, or something to that effect. Keeps from having signature lines that are longer than the actual post for readability.

Of course, that probably should have been mentioned in this thread.

Your posts are too short. Add content and then maybe, just maybe they will start having signatures attached. Of course if the algorithm actually was able to determine content and not count words, then shit, you'd never have a signature, drew. Kidding, of course.... Not really... Yes really. No.

So what's the limit admins?

Do you new posts look a lot like spam? If so they probably are blocked.

edit: I went back and unblocked one or two posts I found. They weren't particularly spammy, but they seem similar to the posts that get plastered around when bots want to get past the quality posts requirement.

I thought there was a post minimum that you had to have before you got it? I could be completely off base though.

Megan McGuire is clearly an early Soong-type android. Remarkably human-like, but it'll take 5 years for her to get Geordi's joke.
