I think it will be below hype personally, but we all can dream!

I think they'll exceed. Things seemed to be lined up so nicely:

1. Coming off a solid year or so of the iPod (and Apple) enjoying MASSIVE pop culture adoration and attention.

2. All this "digital media" stuff seems to be revving up, and you know Apple are going to have their hands in it in some way.

3. The iWeb thing intrigues me...the possible easy blogging and website building for a guy like me. I'm more excited to hear about that than any hardware, truth be told! That will actually affect/enrich my life.

4. The Intel stuff. These things are out now (Yonah and its variants). Apple's laptops have hit a ceiling. It's time to see some great new stuff, and turn some old friends and existing products completely on their head. I can't wait to see what they've done to the good ol' iBook! I bet it's beautiful...

5. Everyone looks to Apple. Even non-Mac geeks know who Steve Jobs is, what companies he runs, who's responsible for the iPod and the wide acceptance of digital music purchasing, organizing and playing. And you KNOW Apple realizes this, and they're not going to come limping out of the gate Tuesday, I'm sure.

So you add all five of those things up...

Very nice points pscates. I agree with your digital media revolution point, if it's time for a new industry shaking product, why shouldn't it be from Apple? Steve is bound to have something up his sleve.

Pscates pretty much sums it up that article nicely without even reading it.
