What watch do you wear?
I guess the title says it all. I wear a Freestyle Targa watch. I really like the oversize digits that are easy to see, especially when running/surfing. |

none, that is what clocks on the wall are for. If I am outside, that is what the sun is for. If it is cloudy or dark, that is what sleep is for.

I've got this Danish beauty on right now.
So fucking light you wouldn't know you were wearing a watch. EDIT: The picture kept disappearing on me so I decided to host it from Dot Mac. EDIT II: What the fuck! Well, I went back to the original picture seeing as Dot Mac was bringing this thread to a crawl as it failed to load the image. Last edited by HOM : 2004-07-15 at 22:46. |

My watch's battery died and it's driving me insane! It's been dead for over three weeks (i don't have the money to get a replacement yet) and I still look at my wrist expecting to see it.

I can't stand having the leather watches. Metal ones feel so much better. Anyone else agree?

Seiko Scuba Master...
Don't think they make them any more.. Totally electronic, analogue, diving watch which can really go to 200 odd meters. Quite big, but made of Titanium so pretty light. I have had it for about 6 or 7 years and the Crystal screen is totally unscratchable. My party trick with this is to bash the screen on rough granite walls and then press the reset button which makes the hands fly around in all directions when it does a self test! Mental watch... and I actually use it for diving too! Last time I saw one it was going for £1000 on ebay, which is not bad considering I bought mine for about £300 or £400 in Tokyo! scratt! No watch, currently. I actually hate them - and any other type of jewelry or accessory - on me. But my last 2 have been kinda neat Coleman watches from Target.
Yeah, only $20, but a nice aged metal look with a cool, worn-looking strap. Big numbers, kinda retro/outdoorsy in look and feel. But that was over 3 years ago, the last one. I tend not to care about what time it is too much...the primary benefit of a single, unattached and on-his-own fella with no one to answer to, or for. |

Timex Expedition (analog with a little LED at the bottom) with leather band. Scratched the face on it last year and the damn shops I've taken it to are unable to replace the glass. Pisses me off. Every time I get a pair of sunglasses or a watch I like, I scratch them. NEVER fails. Which is why I don't even care when I walk out the door without them.

Some sort of Timex, much like Brad's. Mine is nigh on four years old. If I don't have my watch on I freak out. Must....know.....time....always.

I was torn between my current watch and this: I decided on the Freestyle just because I'm outdoors a lot surfing, hiking, etc, so it seemed more practical than the Seiko (being a dress watch.) I still wouldn't mind having one though. My dad has a kinetic Seiko. |

I wear a cheap silverish watch I bought for $10 at WalMart. It looks like the Seiko posted above with the blue face.

I can't wear watches. I've tried. I just hate them. They irritate my wrist and I'm constantly taking it off to wipe off my wrist underneath it. They usually don't fit right either, they're either too tight or too loose and there aren't enough settings for the width of the band to go between. I also can't stand wearing rings. My mother and her father are the exact same way - neither of them ever wear watches or rings (not even their weddings rings). I wonder if it's some kind of genetic trait.

No watch for me... I lost my last one about 9 months ago, and I haven't really noticed its absence.
If/when I do get a new one, I'll try to beg my father's old watch off him — a nice, very plain analogue wind-up watch... very nice. Much as I hate to admit it, I saw a Calvin Klein watch the other day which was almost tasteful — except for the CK sigil on the face. Ugh. Metal bands annoy me — leather all the way baby! |

I saw this film once called "REMO - unarmed and dangerous" and there was this Chinese guy (I think his name was Chun) who was his mentor... anyway, classic quote: "Watches are simply a confidence trick employed by the Swiss!"
