My laptop, iBook G4 won't find the wireless network at my gf's house, however the iBook G4 of one of her housemates will (I'm using it now). Any ideas why my iBook won't find any networks. It has previously and in my house it does find the wireless netowrk and connects to it no problems at all.
Any ideas? |

Try downloading kismac. It has basic disgnostic tools to show you signal strength and stuff like that.
My guess is that your girlfriend's wireless base station is configured to only allow connections from listed MAC addresses, so that means you'll need to go into Airport Admin Utility and add your MAC address (found under 'network' in the Apple System Profiler)... but that's only my guess. |

It seems to be working now. I restarted my iBook again it detected several networks, including their house one. However it's not the first time its failed to detect networks, but I have never needed tot ry restarting it before.
edit: It seems that this issue only occurs when waking the computer from sleep. Last edited by revolution : 2006-11-23 at 12:49. |
