I saved my users home folder to another drive, and started over again on one of my mac's. I have completely reinstalled everything. I can't seem to find the file with the Address Book data in my former home folder. Can someone give me an idea what file I am looking for?

On 10.2.8 - I think it may be ~/Library/Addresses/Address\ Book.addressbook

... but I would have thought that would have been copied with your home folder.

Definitely in the Home folder - in the Library/Application Support/AddressBook folder

Actually - FFL is right - I think I just referred to an early entourage file. I am going to delete that folder - it confuses me.

Best to go ~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook folder as suggested.

Well I just made it work by moving 3 files.

The first is
USERHOME/Library/Application Support/AddressBook folder containing 4 files

The next is
USERHOME/Library/Preferences/AddressBookMe.plist

And the last which took me awhile, cause I had replaced the other two to no avail is
USERHOME/Library/Preferences/com.apple.AddressBook.plist

For some reason all "Three" have to be done. Thanks for the inspiration to try harder.

Good work omf! This place is always good for learning from others ... obviously, I did not know the correct answer, but your solution is good for all of us to learn from now!

That was a pain in the ass, I thought it would be one little file and it kept driving me nuts. Although I did learn that it actually has a built in backup feature.

The things we find when we actually look. lol
