I'm having issues file sharing between mac and vista computers on my network. I have tried the suggestions found in this thread: http://forums.macosxhints.com/showthread.php?p=354132 but still can't connect.
Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks. ***EDIT*** I got it to work. I was typing the commands incorrectly in terminal. For future reference, type the following two commands in terminal (don't change Vista security policies): sudo vi /etc/smb.conf lanman auth = yes sudo vi /etc/smb.conf ntlm auth = yes Last edited by Ominx : 2007-02-14 at 00:00. |

It seems the settings don't stick and the smb configuration has to be set at every boot. If anyone knows how to make the settings persistent that would be great. I probably could run a script at login, but I am more curious and interested in knowing why the configuration is being set only for the current session.
