I was just reading Wikipedia's article on the history of apple and there was a link on there to Steve Job's Reality Distortion Field. It basically said there were people out there (like Jobs) who were able to utterly convince people thye met that what they were doing was right and enlisted their unyielding support.

sounds kinda cool to me.
Does anyone have further random information about his RDS or personal experience with it?

I personally prefer the 2002-A Model. It has all of the features of the 2002-B Model without the bugs of the 2001A/B Models and comes in a much nicer package than 2002-B...

It is my understanding that the 2003-2005 Models have sucked ass...

I don't know what the fuck you're talking about, I have the 2003A, and so does my friend and my aunt in Florida just got a 2005 model and they work just fine. No problems at all. It's pretty impetuous of you to come on here and start raggin'. Just raggin away. How dare you. How.. dare you.

this is bullshit ... I've been after a logic board replacement for my 2001-B model and now they've pulled the thread over at Apple's Discussion boards.

According to Sirius Cybernetic Corporation, all of their products are equipped with a red service button. At a mere push of button, a knowledgable and experienced engineer robot will instantly arrive at the spot on his ion bike from sub-etha and repair it for you.

Try it.

Normal field emissions decrease in power as the cube root of distance from the source.

Steve's emissions only grow stronger as he becomes wise in the use of the RD force.

yesyes. hilarity aside: the Reality Distortion Field that Steve emits is not real. he doesn't actually emit a field, any more than you or i. during an keynote speech (or other close encounters of the Steve-kind) his Jobness is very effective at conveying the message of "what i say is good; everything else is shit."

You'd be surprised just how frightfully real and powerful the RDF is, despite thuh Freak's claims.

See it for yourself in action!

By the way, I've updated your thread title to clarify the subject.

After many years of training he has grown powerful.

Now compare the original 1984 Macintosh Keynote from when he was but a padawan.
(The link has multiple sources of the 20Mb file, some active, some 404.)

Note the bad lighting, bow tie and yacht club blazer, and the do-it-yourself ease from unpacking, through the floppy from the pocket trick that makes the crowd cheer.

Showmanship, even 20+ years ago.
Add practice and you get the modern RDF.

wow i feel utterly made fun of in this thread, but it makes me laugh as well.

and i had just come to the conclusion Gates was the and Jobs was an angel with close to mind control powers, but apparently I was wrong

edit: good grief, that second video is like a backstreet boys concert!

I think the best part about threads like these is that you stumble into them and discover what's going on. There's no sign on the New Posts page that says "Hey everybody, want to take the piss - this is the thread to do it in!"

There was also a good anti-SW thread for that SW kid that had me cracking up, but I missed the festivities on that one.
