OK, how hard do you have to squeeze this darn thing to get the side buttons to activate? I can't get it to go...

Did you set it up in the System Prefs to have the side buttons be on?
It doesn't take much. |

I turned side button on to Dashboard. Won't budge.

I've only played with the Mighty Mouse at a local Apple Store, so take this post with that caveat in mind. To activate whatever control the side buttons had been set to, I had to squeeze rather firmly--maybe a 4 out of 10--but by no means was it necessary for me to imitate Superman and crush a piece of coal into a diamond.

When I squeeze it, I can hear it click, but it doesn't activate the control.
I'm going to repair permissions now, maybe that will correct it. |

No good, reinstalling Mighty Mouse software didn't work either.

The one I played with in the Apple Store needed quite a squeeze, and it wouldn't work if your fingers were on either of the main buttons.

Fixed!
I had forgotten to remove USB Overdrive from when I was battling with the Logitech POS, and apparently it was conflicting with the Mighty Mouse software. Removed it, rebooted, and all is well! |

I was going to say.... If anything, the side buttons are too easy to activiate, and will activate by accident on ocasions once you get used to the MM.
But it seems you have it sorted now.. By the way, I have USB Overdrive installed and it has given me no problems with my MM. 'Remember, measure life by the moments that take your breath away, not by how many breaths you take' Extreme Sports Cafe | ESC's blog | scratt's blog | @thescratt |
