I thought this was pretty cool.

Two-song downloads, an A-side and B-side, sold for $1.49-1.99.

For you youngsters, music used to come on small 45rpm vinyl discs, about 8" or so around, a song on each side.

This is the iTunes modern-day take on that.

Here's an overview from MacRumors.com.

Neat logo (although I would've worked in that little yellow adapter clip thingie...).

This is cool I think the album art makes these more valuable IMO.

Yeah, it's kinda cool to see.

I assume these are the original A/B pairings then? I don't see many artists on there (yet) that I'm super-familiar with (enough to know their single releases and B-sides).

When I was a little boy (on up through 12-13 or so), I had a boatload of 45s, in a little blue and white checkerboard carrying case. Some were hand-me-downs from my parents and their friends (some cool 60's one-hit wonders or actual, vintage stuff), and then all the stuff I bought later on. I'd tote it around to friends in my neighborhood, and we'd play records.

Everyone (including me) had one of those little suitcase-style record players. You open it up, plug it in and put on a record. The sound quality was amazing!

No it wasn't.

[oldcoot]You whippersnappers with your iPods and your pm3s...back in my day, we had to carry around a suitcase and a box of cantaloupe-sized discs to play our music. And we liked it![/oldcoot]

Ha, they fixed the title on the store, but the tags on the files are still "Billy". Raised the price to 1.99 though, odd.
