Did anyone see the speed tests at barefeats, why are the newer core 2 duo macbooks that just got the bump up to 25% faster than the older core 2 duo macbooks with the same ghz?? Could they be a different chipset all together?
Also anyone think its kind of fishy that all the left over core 2 duo's from the macbook pro 2.0-2.16 (the lower end) suddenly got the upgrade to the 13" macbooks just before wwdc june! I guess the 15" mbp's will be updated! |

I think pretty much everyone thinks the MBP's will be updated at WWDC. It's been 217 days since the last release. They're due for an update.

I don't know where you're getting the idea that the new Core 2 Duo MacBooks are 25% faster than the previous Core 2 Duo MacBooks. Apple's benchmarks are comparing the current machines to the Core Duo MacBooks, not the previous Core 2 Duo models.

hmm.. maybe they were comparing the 1.83ghz core 2 duo with 2mb of L2 cache with the new lower end 2.0 ghz core 2 duo 4mb L2 cache.

Mind citing that barefeats article? I don't see anything new over there since May 15 besides a silly little article on PS3 vs Xbox vs Mac.
