Okay, I think we need an explanatory announcement on this momentous occasion.

Yesterday, our esteemed member, Kickaha, astounded his faculty dissertation-defense committee with a presentation that left them in stunned silence at its brilliance. (I wish to point out that this is *my* interpretation of events, not 'his'. )

After much hard work, Kickaha has managed to squeeze in a doctorate in computer science - between his thousands of posts at AppleNova.

We honestly don't know how he did it! heh

Anyway, this is such wonderful news. Kickaha, all of us at AN extend to you our heartiest congratulations on your truly magnificent accomplishment.

I know! I know! When you don't sleep for months at a time it's really easy. In fact, Kick hasn't logged off of AppleNova for something like 8 months straight. Except for when he went to defend his dissertation.

Really, I don't mean to poke fun at your insomnia. I'm really impressed Doc.

Congrats...for like the 11th time. Although you deserved each one.

Come waste your time with me

Congradulations!

Applenova is climbing the social ladders. Soon enough, somebody will mention their AN membership offhand, and others will be like "Wow, you really belong to Applenova!?" Things will progress until we have to close our doors to new members. We'll have a motto like "Applenova: for people who do things, (like talk about computers alot)." or "Applenova: where particular geeks congregate"

AN will become social capital. Kickaha is leading the way. He can be our technological public representative.

Evidently I have HW to do. I am procrastinating from my phd 20 years down the line.

Mmmm, homework procrastination. :smokey:

Congrats, Kick! Now, what exactly does this program you wrote do? (OK, not exactly, but enough so we can say, wow, that's <insert praise word here>.

Now, only 12 more years until I can think about starting my grad work!

Dr Kick,

I have this funny growth on the inside of my leg. When I squeeze it a puss like substance comes out. What is wrong? I can send pictures if that would help!

Nice one Kick... Always knew you were brainy...

It's your lightening wit and firey comebacks whenever we held slightly opposing views on things that gave it away...

I'm glad we are friends as now you are soooper soooper clever I feel you'll understand my viewpoints more easilly!

So Dr. Kick, when your program is examining computer code, how does it get it to turn its head and cough?
