One wonders how this will go over with bikers and dixie drinkers. If it requires changing their tattoos, there'll be hell to pay. Last edited by curiousuburb : 2004-09-29 at 21:18. |

Could you even taste the difference?
You do realize they've done it before... 90 proof to 86... Green Label was always 80 proof anyway, and I'm guessing that's what most people here drink...if they drink Jack at all. Last edited by Eugene : 2004-09-30 at 01:22. |

Bleah.
The Macallan. Cask Strength. 116.8 proof of the smoothest scotch you'll ever sip to warm your gullet. |

this sucks. although many would barely be able to tell the difference, knowing there is a difference is enough to kill the buzz.

Psh...80, 86, 90 proof? Pansy school girls all of you.
151 is my hard core drink of choice. Of course I haven't drank in in a couple months...obvious reasons. Besides, it's nice to get the slow drunk of beer or chambord (spelling?) and champagne, as long as you don't mix the beer and champagne! Then of course there are those crazies who drink because they like the flavor of things |

If I was looking to go permanently blind, I would drink 151!

I don’t have any difficulty with the lower alcohol level. Actually, a lower level can be good because you can have a couple of flavourful drinks without being under the table. I might be mistaken, but I think that anything sold in Canada is required to have a maximum of 80-proof.
Whisky of choice: Scotch: Laphroaig – Taste that hits you over the head with a spiked club. Irish: Prefer Jameson over Bushmills. Canadian: Alberta Springs – The only Canadian whisky (rye) that is actually made entirely of rye…and the only one worth bothering with IMO. Smooth, flavourful,…but I am not sure its easily available outside of Canada. Bourbon: I’m not an expert. Had an interesting one in a bar a couple of months ago. Smooth and lots and lots of taste, but a bit of a ‘caramel’ aftertaste. Interesting, but I still have not made up my mind on whether I like that flavour in a whisky. Is that typical in bourbon? I’ll take your recommendations on brands…although it may be difficult get some of them here. When there's an eel in the lake that's as long as a snake that's a moray. |

was being sarcastic. My "tragedy" comment was poking fun at those freaking out over this change. I personally don't drink the vile stuff, so I don't give a flying damn if they discontinued it altogether. I'm a rum or beer guy. |

I haven't had JD for probably 15 years.
Scotch drinker myself, so I understand that flavour is more important than alc %... Just seemed like a change likely to piss off their core demographic... |

in kuwait alcohol is banned.you can find them only in the black market but a bottle of red label would cost you like 120$
SO, when we were still in highschool, and broke ofcourse, we used to go to the supermarket, buy this really cheap perfume called Jackson. Rumors had it that this was the only perfume you could drink that didnt make you go blind. We also bought cocktail juice and water with the perfume. we would mix up the 3 and drink. tasted like crap, but it got you drunk. portable: MacBook 2.4Ghz, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD | personal: PowerMac G5 dual 2.3ghz, 6GB RAM, 6TB HD | work: MacBook Pro 2.5ghz, 2GB RAM, 160GB HD | car: Alpine iDA-W407 with black iPod 80GB | pocket: iPhone 3GS with Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 Pro's |
