I've got a new 15" Powerbook, bought the same day the latest revision was announced earlier this year.

About a week ago I noticed a white spot on the display, which is in the top middle of the screen. Based on apple's support page about the white spot repair programme, it definitely looks like one of the classic white spots.

I thought this issue had been resolved long ago - at least that's what I'd assume since the white spot repair programme only accepts an old range of serial numbers (into which mine, beginning W, does not fall).

I've searched these and other mac forums but can't see much about people having the white spots on new PBs. I'll probably end up taking it to the London store since I'm local to it and see what they say about repair/replacement.

Anyone else with these little bastards appearing?

I would take it to the apple store and see what they say. It's probably a manufacturing defect.
