I'm getting a late b-day present for LoCash next week - overtaking him in Folding@Home!

I totally thought that said double entry the first time I read it.

You know, one regular, and one innuendo.

I hate to admit it, murbotsky, but that was classic.

My birthday isn't until Saturday, so Carol's announcement is a little premature I'm expecting everyone in Atlanta to show up to the party though.

Hell, I was seriously considering driving down from NC to get down wit' da Cash, but then I realized that:
- I'd kill brain cells I need to graduate
- I'd probably get arrested
- I'd die in a car crash

Not necessarily in that order.

Actually, I do wish I could take the time to get down there, but right now? Ha. Y'all have a kickass time though.

Oh, and you too, LoCash.

Oh boy! Party!

Can I bring cake, balloons, streamers, free-base?

You're really going to be missing out, Kick. You have no idea. I'm picking up the kegs tomorrow, moving in all of the audio equipment Saturday morning along with a few couches. Then this guy named "Trauma" is coming by with other party favours. Pretty exciting.

Feel free to bring balloons though, we don't really have any. We could use some glowsticks though.

For those that never saw the invite...

It is with great regret that we say our farewells to Jack, who passed away on May 28th, 2005. Jack, you will be missed by all

So, LoCash, maybe you should park your car somewhere else the night of the party.

You don't want your impaired friends crashing into it.

...OR throwing up on it.

Hey, murbeau. On the radio tonight I heard about a contest up in Whitehorse.

It's a contest to find the woman with the hairiest legs. hahaha

(I guess some parts of Canada are more primeval than others. )

Well, today's the day. Happy Birthday. Is your wife taking you out for dinner?

Filet mignon, is it? Or are you a ribeye kinda guy?

It'll actually be really hard to splurge; I've been methodically tracking every ounce of food that I've eaten this year and cut out all alcohol. I've had 3 beers in 2005, fer chrissakes. Trying this new thing they have out now, called Fitness. It's kind of cool actually.

I'll probably splurge tonight though and have a rack of ribs and a few beers. I destroyed my legs in the squat rack last night, so my quads will probably suck the calories in to repair themselves. heh heh

Fuck I feel old today.

My dad turns 58 today.

Happy birthday to all of y'all out there who share this 25th day of February as their day of birth. Um, yeah.

Odd. Today is my dads 57th birthday. I'd best remember to call him after work.

Hey, that's great. I'm *totally* impressed (seriously). You must have a will of iron!

Ah, you just ache from those over-extended muscles. A good soak in a hot bath oughta take care of that.

A bath and a felicitation or two might help...

Haha.

I can see that *that* word will always be with me, on into the distant future. *sigh*

Oh well. I can live with that, I guess. It IS pretty funny. (*grumble*)

My complete failure to key in on that word should prove to thegelding, once and for all, that I am indeed a woman, and NOT a 14 yr. old boy! heh. Where *are* you, g? What say you?

A bath and feliciations, huh?

Only at AppleNova, folks!

If we had an AppleNova business card, we could put that 'image' on it. (But it would have to be Murbeau in the bath. hahaha )

PS - to clarify...he would be SAYING "Felicitations," NOT *getting* them!!!

Okay, I shelled out a whole fifty cents to buy a newspaper with the horoscope for those who have birthdays on Friday, February 25.

It says (only *slightly* edited for length - ):

Quote:
You transform rapidly this year, easily letting go of what no longer works in your life. Good for you! Others could be reactive as you start to bloom right in front of them. Your changes will force others to grow. They might not be comfortable with your transformation. Professional and public commitments reflect the new you. Your relationship potential is high. Let possibilities flourish. Let your sweetie have as much space as she needs.
Pretty interesting, don't you think?

C'mon, Luca. Lighten up a little. I know you hate astrology; but I haven't really talked about it since the last birthday thread, many months ago. I can pretty much guarantee that anytime there is a birthday thread, I'll be mentioning signs and stuff. I'm sorry it drives you crazy.

Now is your chance to build up your tolerance for annoying people (like *me*!!! ).

The webcast for my party tomorrow night is totally ON! We did some live tests this afternoon. The URL is going to be...

rtsp://quark.physics.phys.psu.edu/locash.sdp

Don't bother clicking it until tomorrow night around 9pm. That's when I'll probably start 'er up. If you click it now you just get a 404

Okay, for LoCash's party, the password for getting in will be "felicitations."

But turbans will have to be checked at the door.

...er...'left' at the door...

...that is...not allowed in...

...um...you know...'checked' at the door.

Aw, nevermind.

Okay, LoCash, here's the newspaper horoscope for those born on February 26:
Quote:
You have unusual charisma this year, as though Venus in your sign today beams extra magnetism throughout this birthday year. You smile, and others cannot help but respond. You learn the strength of one-on-one relating even more than in the past. Honor your partnerships and agreements. Funds come from other sources, perhaps an inheritance or a lucky bet. If you are single, you will want to form a close relationship. If you are attached, working together as a team will enhance the closeness that exists between you. Schedule a special trip for the fall.

And for today: A special someone absolutely wants to spend time with you. With Venus in your sign, you become more and more desirable. You might want to rethink some personal decisions. Tonight: add that special touch.
I haven't yet looked up Pisces in my books - at least, not since Segovius' birthday last year . (Wish I had a scanner.) The daily newspaper stuff is usually of minimal credibility. But the stuff in some of my books is 'amazingly' interesting - when applied to people one already knows well.

Hope the party is a huge success, the police aren't called, and no one gets arrested.

Happy birthday.

Carol, I understand your position that it's just a hobby and that you realize it's not real. But why, then, do you talk about the relative credibility of the sources? Wouldn't that mean that you actually do believe it's real and you're only saying that you don't actually believe in them?

I'm not trying to get on your case or anything but I'm still trying to figure out what's going on inside your head. Maybe it's a pointless endeavor but I'm curious. Believing in horoscopes seems like believing in religion, except people don't seem nearly as attached to horoscopes as they do religion.
