I just reflashed the firmware on my Linksys router and went from 25mbps to 90mbps on 802.11n. No Tomato or DD-WRT, just stock firmware.

IMO UniFi WiFi hardware is overpriced and the administration options are pretty unnecessary for a 1,2,3 AP home. I'd rather have Netgear Orbi and its dedicated 4-stream 5GHz backhaul for pure performance. Even that won't grant gigabit speeds in most cases because the satellite APs will be running on 2-streams (867mbps link rate.)

It's ok. pfSense is unnecessary for most homes too. My home is far from most homes. While mesh is good for Z-wave and Zigbee, I'm not ready to put my WiFi through a mesh. I move to much data through my network all the time.

I'm more consistently getting closer to the speeds I'm paying for since switching to the USG3.

Fiber Optic at last!

And that's only the start I'll be back soon with more like 300 Mbps. Watch this space.

I used to be undecided.....But now I'm not so sure.

Finally got it fixed and seem to be in the same boat. It's not setting any records, but works for our needs.

We actually get 21/6, but I have QoS active to set priorities and reduce bottlenecks.

^^ One more quality post from the desk of Ebby. ^^
