I know I can solve this with a Google search, but wanted to share that my 89 year old mom is frustrated that her Apple Watch isn't recording her EXERCISE ring like it does for her other rings.

Isn't it awesome that she cares?

Is her heart rate hitting the necessary threshold?

The heart rate is the key to it thinking you're exercising. I found that when I do low intensity things that don't trigger exercise on the Watch automatically will if I start an exercise in the Workout app under Other - Open Goal. Sure I have to manually tell it I'm working out, but I have to do the same when I'm weightlifting because it doesn't give me credit for most of the time I'm picking up heavy things and putting them down. At least, if I don't manually start the workout in the app.

It is REALLY awesome that she cares!
