So I'm on a 6 year old MBP that I will not upgrade any farther, due to software platform needs.

My iPhone is now saving image files as HEIC.

Once I migrate upward in my next lappy I'll be okay, but I already foresee problems.

What happens when I upload a folder full of HEIC files to cloud storage?

I suspect that the iOS won't always convert the files down to JPEG format.

Yes, I know it's been around for a few years but I'm curious if I'm the only one dancing around this new format.

Because I need some help.

Maybe counseling, even.

For now I am buying Graphic Converter, which can handle the conversion, something that my older MacOS cannot.

I don't have an answer for you, but I could make some stuff up if you'd like.

Always is a long time, but JPEG support will probably be with us for another decade or two.

Can't you use a free converter from Adobe or something? Like their RAW converter? I haven't messed with photography really in a while so I don't know what those software titles are like now.

I'd probably go the graphic converter route, and futz around with Automator and see if you can get a nice drag/drop conversion going.

Oooo... I like that. You can even set it up as a monitored folder so you just drop the files into a folder on the computer and it does the processing.
