Star Trek Online is launching in just over a month, but three of the ship classes need names. What's an MMOG developer to do? Well, if that developer is Cryptic, they...hold a contest! The three ship classes that need names are an "escort type," science ship, and cruiser, and they're asking the community to send in their suggestions by January 8. Winners receive a copy of the game, a special poster featuring their ship, and the heartwarming feeling that they kinda sorta made a difference in the (non-canon ) universe of Star Trek. I have no clue if the game is going to be good or not, but this seemed like the sort of thing some people here would be into. So. Who wants to nominate a Nova class ship? and i guess i've known it all along / the truth is, you have to be soft to be strong |

Escort class: give ships in the class names of smaller mythical characters, ones that were companions or heralds of seasonal changes.
Like Jack Frost. Since the class is named after the first ship of the class... No one else would have a clue what else it meant, but we would. Merry Christmas, everyone. |
