Apple suggests some Apple Stores should have these models today or tomorrow available for demo and purchase.

Anyone seen them? Checked if they'll be quad-upgradeable (or missing the socket)? Or best of all, benchmarked one.

I was just able to pick up a dual core 2.0 tonight. Sales guy said they came in last night. I haven't had a chance to run any benchmarks, but just on a quick eyeballing, it seems to be about the same speed as the Dual Proc 2.0. Might be a little bit quicker. I just threw in another gig of DDR2 as well. Protools LE session with 9 tracks and about 15 or so plugins running was putting up about a 30% processor load.

The pictures seem to show a radiator on the dualcore 2.0/2.3. Is yours liquid cooled, or is that just a radiator for a heatpipe?

Seems people are having trouble installing apps that require an AGP video card, like FCP 4.5.

Found that the dualcore 2.0/2.3's still seem to be air-cooled. I'm sure the Quad will need liquid, just as the old 2.5's were.

The dualcore's also can't be upgraded to Quad, because they're missing the socket connection:

This is just like the single 1.8 G5's:

FCP 4.5 will run just fine if you edit the info.plist file in there. Just remove the reference to AGP. Worked for me.
