I was all set to buy a iMac G5 this week thinking that it was going to be mid year at the earliest before Apple came out with the iMac Intel, boy was I surprised.

Now here is my quandary… I purchased a used copy of Final Cut Studio off eBay a few weeks back knowing that I was getting the iMac very soon and I have discovered it will not work on the intel based Mac pc’s. I will have to purchase an upgrade that won’t be available for a month or two. Apparently Apple is not including support for their “professional” software with the “Rosetta” emulator.

The software was at the upper end of my budget so I’m not real thrilled about having to buy an upgrade from Apple if I buy the iMac Intel….

Does anybody know if or when Apple should start to discount the G5 iMac’s? The Apple rep at my local CompUSA was thinking that they would be marked down this week but I’ve seen nothing so far….
