I logged on to the online UK Apple Store today and I found that Apple have reduced their prices!!
The 17" iMac is now only £879, 20" is £1129 Mac mini is £399/£529 This is £50 off all of these models, right? It also applies to the HE store, where you can now get a Mac Mini Core Solo for £359 with a free 3yr Warranty! At HE: iMac: £773.15/£982.30 (Wow! Less than a grand for a 20" iMac!) Mac mini: £359.55/£475.88 |

The price adjustment is likely due to the changed Pound-Dollar and Euro-Dollar conversion rates; German prices, for instance, were updated as well.

Bear in mind there are two HE stores with differing prices - one which you can access from any computer, and one which you can only access from a computer on your college network, although you get more of a discount in this store than with the HE store that's open to all.
Since I'm not on a college computer right now, in the HE store I'm able to access, the prices are: iMac: £826.03 (17") £1061.03 (20") with VAT Mac mini: £374.83 + £497.03 with VAT Helvetica is my bitch. System: 27" iMac i7, 2TB, 8GB RAM, Mac OS X Snow Leopard |

No. There is one store called The Apple Store For Education which is accessible from any PC, and another called The Apple Store For Higher Education which is only accessible from a University PC (or by using VPN from home like I do).

Um... that's pretty much what I said, isn't it? (so I didn't get the names exactly right)

Apple don't enforce the rules that rigorously... I got the HE Contract/3 years warranty price over the phone, just by asking for it.

Apple reduced the price of the Shuffle and Nano, and the mini in Canada, from the looks of things, but not the iMac.

Yes, now that I look at it, nano has been reduced in price in the UK too.

The iPod nano price has also been reduced at some High Street retailers too like Argos and Currys (.digital included).

Pfffft. I'm currently using my second iPod after the death of the first. The price of each respective iPod dropped exactly two weeks after I bought it.

Same with my first iBook back in 2004. Paid £850 for it (800mhz) and then a week later the price of that model fell to £699. Grr. Luckily it had that ibook loose battery problem which was a good excuse to take it back. John Lewis are very good retailers by the way.
