My brother have iBook with iPhoto '06 and now he has purchased a new iMac 20' with iPhoto '08.
In the past you could simply replace the folder iPhoto in the Finder and kepp all teh Albums, Keywords etc. But now iPhoto 8 have a package file iPhoto in the Finder. How could he transfer pictures from iPhoto '06 to iPhoto '08 while keeping Albums, Keywords, etc? Like old days, know. Should he simply do the Show Package Contents in '08 and replace the files there in Finder from iPhoto '06 folder? Nooooooooo.
Remove the iPhoto '08 bundle (export anything in there if you put anything in), copy the '06 folder over, then launch iPhoto '08. It should convert it. The bundle is a bundle now for a reason - to *keep* you from screwing with it. |
