HELP!!!!!

I have several users who want their old MACs to be joined to our Windows Server 2003 Domain. The domain is running in mixed mode, and all of the servers are windows server 2003.

The MACs are on OS version 10.2.3

Is it possible to join them to the domain? How?

Thank you

MAC = Media Access Control (AKA: MAC address)
Mac or mac = Macintosh (or Apple) computer

Some people get their panties in a wad about this.

Sorry, can't help with your windows issues.

I didn't know people were so case sensetive around here.

Really......I'm not here to soak up a 19-year old's attitude. I have a REAL problem affecting several users in our organization who would like to authenticate to our Windows domain. Can anyone provide any real help here?

Thank You

I've never done this with 10.2 and it's been a long time since I've done it in general, but this will probably help you:

http://www.bombich.com/mactips/activedir.html

That's the ultimate guide to setting up with an Active Directory network.

Chapter 7, page 100 has a section titled "Accessing an Active Directory Domain" that looks helpful:

Quote:
You can configure a server with Mac OS X Server or a computer with Mac OS X to access an Active Directory domain on a Windows 2000 or Windows 2003 server.

...

When someone logs in to Mac OS X with an Active Directory user account, the Active Directory plug-in creates a home directory on the startup volume of the Mac OS X computer. The plug-in also tells Mac OS X to mount the user's Windows home directory (as specified in the Active Directory user account) to mount on the desktop as a share point. Using the Finder, the user can copy files between the Windows home directory in the Network globe and the Mac OS X home directory.
The "Directory Access" program to which the instructions are referring is in the /Applications/Utilities folder.

Thanks......I'll give that a try.

Is the Active Directory plugin part of the base install on version 10.2.3, or is it something that needs to be added on? Everything that I find documented about this AD plugin refers to versions 10.3 and newer.

Thanks Again
