A little late for April, but not in all time zones.

May 1st we start a new month, and a new subject! Thanks to everyone who has taken part so far, we've seen some interesting shots!

I was thinking of one the other day, and this came to mind. I don't have a photo for this yet, but will be taking some soon. A shot of one of your favorite place(s) to go in town/local area. It could be a building, a park, whatever you like!

Yes, I'm a crazy, cyber stalker.

It seemed to be a good idea, that way we can see some of the cool places to go, should anyone travel to our home towns, for some reason or another.

Not my shots, and not technically my hometown... but check out the Gigapixel Yaletown. A zoomable 3GB composite of 400 shots of Vancouver.

Beautifully clear skies and water... snow topped mountains peeking through... hot babes (just left of centre, about 19th floor).

Vancouver FTW!

Cool picture, but the girl is a bit blurry faced for my tastes. I'm not judging your shit though...

The low building just left of centre (with the faded Esso logo) is my workplace. In fact, I'm there right now.

Poor bastard, stuck looking at the ocean all day. People in Vancouver really have it tough, sandwiched in between the mountain and the ocean...

I'd agree if my office had a window...

I worked in a place one with no windows. By my third day I started getting a bit claustrophobic, so I went into someone else's office who had curtains which were, for some reason, closed in the middle of the day. What kind of insane person would do that? So I threw them open, to reveal a brick wall. Which made a lot of sense in retrospect because the office was in the middle of the building and didn't touch any of the outer walls.

That was my last day at that job...

Am I the only one who can't spot the faded Esso sign? Where is it?

There's a street left of centre going away from the camera, with the roundabout at the end. Up there, on the left.

Nurdly, you weren't the only one.

I just found the Esso logo: It's almost invisible. You have to look above the stairs between the white building on the side of the roundabout and the building with a glass front the big wooden pillar inside. You have to really zoom in to see it (and the monitor shouldn't be too dark...)

Thanks, I now see why I didn't see—as it were.

Chris

BTW is there a way to change one's handle? I'd prefer using my real name.

Here is one of my favorite spots to go with friends. Looks like the first May entry.

In my old town, my favorite spot was the local zoo. One example of the many shots I made there:

Since we've moved 6 weeks ago, I'm still exploring my surroundings, so I don't have a new favorite spot yet...
