Well crap, I've been playing with AppleNova instead.
BTW, the zombie was bed placement.

Are seeds case sensitive? My world has no capital N.

Found an open ravine with no river, and an exposed abandoned mineshaft - much safer as it's exposed to daylight.

What about my idea for escaping endermen by warping to spawn, which is engineered as a water tank, to kill the pursuing baddie?

Hmm. I created a world using the seed "Applenova" and at the coords I found a mountain meeting a swamp that then leads to an ocean. No town in sight, nor plains.

Punch F3 to get the numeric seed. What do you get? I got -89385370.

Ah, yep. I'm finally getting these now. I wasn't experiencing the bug when I was playing an old world, but on new worlds it's pretty bad. Definitely achievement related.

Core 2 Duo -- the reason I ask (Bryson mostly) is that we could be seeing the effect of different processor type's handling of random. Ah well, its all speculation until we break it.

Ok, anyone care to post the "to busy being full time student, full time work and wife with x kids" to look for it link?

I really wouldn't mind if someone were to post a nice link for me to download this. I'll play via my Dropbox install of MC for playing on Lenny but do an Application folder install for early testing.

Shit. I read about the furnace thing and I still went to cook up some charcoal out of wood.... crash-a-roony.... and it won't let me log back in either!!!

Update.
It asked me if I wanted to play offline, I said yes, I went back and my coal was cooking.

Then it said something about chunks and died again.

Logging back in now.

This is frustrating. I've been able to get going with SSP, but now it's not even making it to the option for that. I crashed somehow and can't get back.

Force quit.
Try to log back on.
Keep force quitting until it offers to let you play "offline".
Force. Force. Force. PLAY!

Wait. Are you talking about on YOUR SERVER???

By the way: I spawned IN A TREE when the game started. What up with that??

I feel like such a wus.

I managed to get the server started on my MBP and am connected to it via the MC game. I spawned near a ghost town in the dark. Thank fully there was a torch. I'm hiding in a house right now.

Gah! I've been searching for hours (running most times) across different worlds trying to find an NCP village and found nothing so far. And THIS GUY spawns next to one on his first shot?

@Brad

I wish that we could all be in the same world at the same time... you know... like... umm....

I've been building my shelter out... a BUNCH of pigs and such in this forest. Only saw one skellie on my first morning after, I waited for him to burn up. I've made glass and the windows are still BLOCKS... not the panes that I read about... is there anything special you have to do to get glass panes?

Communal trap still works. Enderman orbs too! In fact, I'd go so far as to say higher productivity too.

Enderman + trap = bad.

They like to move blocks. Video to come soon. Heading to communal passive trap now.

Passive trap is baren. Nothing.

Lava is now flowing to the ground below the communal trap though.

Just found out my screen capture app isn't Lion compatible. :/ GuessI should upgrade/update.

Psh. I like burning down the villages, reminds me of home. Did anyone notice the cafe structure in the npc village?

Also: has anyone seen a stronghold yet...

That would be odd especially since there's no way to get to the lava without hitting water for a long long time. More to the point it would be turned into cobblestone before then anyway...
