If you got 9 minutes to spare would you mind listening to a track I made?

It's a cover of a jaco pastorius tune, I did it all in Garageband+ live bass and Midi Guitar. I'm considering using this tune for an audition tape for CalArts (which, I'd likely spruce up a bit if I decide to use it), think that's a bad idea if so, why?

thanks for your time.

or if you'd rather spend 9 minutes listening to the various intro themes from babylon 5, go here

Definitely an interesting mix of instruments.

All together, kinda weird, but split up into different songs and it would be very good. Can you sing? Some good lyrics would help it tremendously I think.

About 6 minutes in I sing the only 'lyrics' to the song.

I would hardly count them as lyrics.

"Ooooa, ooa ya"?

There is that for bout 45 seconds from 515-6. I wouldn't say those are lyrics unless I missed it. If those are your lyrics, up the volume. They are very quiet, and sound like background vocals.

But that is just one mans opinion...one man who isn't very musically talented.

Not sure why people think there have to be lyrics to make it better. It's jazz, and it's a cover of a Jaco Pastorius song. There weren't any lyrics to begin with.

I prefer lyrics over no lyrics most of the time.

Well, if you've never heard of John Francis Pastorius, you might not realize that much of his music was instrumental. As an aside, I was listening to Jaco on the bus this morning, for the first time in months, the timing is odd, yes?

ast3r3x,

Have you ever listened to Ozzy? There's one thing common to almost all of his songs. At some point, they all include "Oh yea!" and "Oh yea babay!", so "Ooooa, ooa ya"? could definitely be considered a lyric.
