Well, the battery life is a much needed improvement I am a bit dissapointed about the cpu upgrade not occuring but the new screen resolution is nice. I am gonna go order one of the 15" models as soon as this presentation ends and the store comes online.

is this why SJ didn't give the presentation then. too embarrassed.

DDR2 1gig SO-DIMM

DDR 2700 SO-DIMM

Granted there isn't as much of a price difference as I originally assumed there is sitll $10 and thats still $20 saved between the 2gb's one might add.

WHAT ARE YOU PEOPLE WHINING ABOUT THE POWERMACS FOR?!? The dual-core is supposed to have like 55% increase in performance over the dual-processor, at the same speed. That is a TREMENDOUS fucking upgrade if you think about it. It just got 55% faster? That is a hell of a lot.

I find that unlikely. Faster than dual processor whilst sharing the same bus?

Of course. Dual processor must communicate across the bus to each other while dual-core communicate on the same chip. It is a MUCH more efficient way to share the workload.

All the PB has going for it is software. This update establishes that it is way behind the times. I know that for many people that this is "fast enough", but you do not want to pay premium prices for lower performance. Also, you are not paying for that better software when you buy a PB. You pay for the better software when you buy the software. Further, you should not factor in the better service in the cost... You have to buy the extended service separately. So, when you pay higher prices for the PB, you gotta have that feeling of being ripped off. PB= letdown
