It seems no one has tried yet . I checked MacRumors firum and there people have different views. Some saying it does not help much on DSL. I am still holding off.

Just loaded it on one mac and got 925kbps on the download, then speed tested the other without it and got 817kbps. The upload difference is negligable.
Looks like it has an effect as I have never got that high a reading before on the download. The force is strong in this one |

Just loaded it on the second machine and moved it from 817 to 935kbps - there definately seems to be an effect. |

I think there was a little app that did something similar when OS X first came out. It was called Boradband Enhancer or something. It just tweaked some default settings and promised nothing.

I doubt it will hurt your Bits. Didn't do anything to mine. Honestly, I think it will be pretty difficult for anybody to perceive the difference, because it's pretty rare that a server can saturate a 5Mb+ connection. My cable modem supposedly has a 6Mb bandwidth limit, and I've only seen download speeds approach that limit once or twice.

Well, I got it. I wasn't expecting it to do anything though since I have a 1.5-3 mbs DSL connection. However, my max dl is usually ~200k/sec. After this update I have been getting ~300k/sec fairly consistently. I don't know if it has anything to do with the update or with my connection or what, but that's nice.

Just tried it. 3919 kpbs before, 3917 kpbs after. No difference at all.

Yeah, I didn't see any statistically significant change.

No big change here either. I have a 5Mb connection.

I don't know what went wrong with this soft in my computer(PB G4 1.5, tiger). It went from 1000 Kbps to 400. Later I uninstalled it and it went back to 1000. Should this be just the opposite.

That is what I thought at the beginning, so I got my wife's iBook and checked the connection speed. Checked mine again and it was slow, so then I got rid of the soft and it started working as always. I know it sounds strange.
