Ive had Safari crash 4 or 5 times on me today. I have no idea why. I havent installed anything new or changed anything. It never crashed like this before, so I dunno what the deal is.
Does anyone have any idea of why it could be crashing like this on me??? Die young and save yourself.... @yontsey |

I've notice it happen a lot with site that are loaded with Java Script. In fact, for eBay and a few other sites I must use Firefox because it is painful on my G4 to wait for the pages to load sometimes. I really wish I had a Script Blocker like Firefox.

Both those crashes are in Flash Player, not in Safari itself. I also see you're using APE; you should try and see if you can reproduce the problem with APE disabled.
Your Flash Player is up-to-date, though, so I'm not sure what to do on that base. Maybe try trashing its caches and preferences. Caches never contain important data. They only exist to have certain data available faster, but always as a copy. Occasionally, a cache can get corrupted and cause more harm (random problems) than good (performance improvements). bump: Safari and Firefox are both crashing on me when I go to certain websites.
I emptied cache and it's still happening. Thoughts? What does resetting Safari do? Completely reset and erase keychains, bookmarks, et cetera? Die young and save yourself.... @yontsey |

I found that issue with certain site that contained Javascript. I'm sure that's likely the cause. I haven't had an issue since switching to Leopard though, I'm also fairly limited to which sites I go to.

There's actually a newer version of Flash available now. Resetting Safari clears out all "personal" data from recent browsing including: history, cache, downloads list, cookies, website icons, saves names and passwords for web forms, any other autofill text for web forms, and recent Google searches. It doesn't modify your bookmarks in any way.

Welps... This just started happening to my machine yesterday whenever I go to espn.com on either Safari or Firefox. I emptied out the cache, which didn't work. I then reset Safari and that didn't work either. I also downloaded the new version of Flash as per the instructions noted above. Anyone have any thoughts here? Thank you!

I was just about to come in here and post that ESPN was crashing Safari every time I went to it.
I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one having that problem. No more Twitter. It's Mastodon now. |

I am having the same problem with ESPN. I wanted to check my GS Warriors score and it just hangs up. I even restarted the computer but no go. It works in Firefox on my xp laptop, so I don't whats up.

Apparently ESPN.com is the culprit. After visiting ESPN, any site that is Flash heavy will crash as well. A simple reboot seems to make things work again across the board except for ESPN. So stay away!

I was actually gonna mention yesterday and it slipped my mind. After restarting my computer, all was fine, even ESPN.com.

My problem with Safari crashes has nothing to do with ESPN.com (I can't imagine I'd be going there anyway). Safari crashes for me every time I right-click.
I mean, every. single. time. Can anyone help decipher this issue with me? |
