I've loved this movie for over 20 years now, and watch it several times throughout the Christmas season. I was sad to hear this.

Even sadder because his 22-year-old son was with him and also died, and the cause of the crash was a guy driving drunk (and with no driver's license).

He survived, of course. Don't they always?

when someone is drunk they don't freeze up and become rigid in a crash.... does less damage to them....

so i am assuming being a drunk passenger is the safest possibility....

i wonder how much you increase your chances of survival in an automobile accident by being a drunk passenger

Well, the drunk driver was also driving an SUV versus the director driving an Infiniti. I guess for all that mattered he could have been driving a mini. I suppose that's why you can't go on the PCH for five minutes without seeing the popo...

Retired 8 years ahead of schedule.
