I am just playing with an rsync script to automatically keep my home folder synchronised with my iPod.

If I have never (and never plan to) used classic applications, will I still have resource forks that need copying? (ie. with the ditto command)

OK, I have given up keeping this sig up to date. Lets just say I'm the guy that installs every latest version as soon as its available!

Yes. Sync resources as well with the --eafhfs flag. However, you first need to get the HFS+ aware rsync at http://www.macosxlabs.org/rsyncx/rsyncx.html . Works like a charm.
