Hello,

I apologise if this question is stupid or has already been asked a million times but I was wondering if its possible to record music that's streamed (i.e. from Myspace of an online radio station) and save it to play back later on an iPod? Also, (This may open a can of worms) if this is possible, is it legal? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Selina and welcome It's entirely possible to do this, you should use Audio Hijack (http://www.rogueamoeba.com/audiohijack/) which will let you grab audio from Safari or wherever you want. The trial version will only let you record ten minutes at a time, but that should be fine for songs on MySpace.

It's wholly illegal to record copyrighted songs from MySpace in this manner - you should only use it for songs that are copyright free or have a share-alike license. You can sometimes download the songs from MySpace, so have a look into that too.

HTH.

Another vote for Audio Hijack. I use the Pro version to schedule weekly recordings of my favorite NPR shows and import them automatically into iTunes. It does the job.
