Why did they pair it up with the laptops? Don't the laptops sell better than their desktops? To me, it would make sense to pair it up with the iMac, clean out inventory easier that way. Do you think that a new iBook and/or Powerbook are on their way and Apple is doing this to thin out their existing inventories?

Mu guess is that it would be a back-to-school deal to help spur the sales of the PowerBooks/iBooks which seem best suited for students on the go these days.

Sweet, I just ordered a 15-inch book and a $69 iPod. I have to say, the Cram and Jam promo is a very good deal indeed

I did the same last year, but when they just released the 40GB iPod, so I got the 30 for about $149, plus a free HP printer.

They did the same thing last summer, but it was $300 off for a printer, iPod, and laptop. For students.

So I bought my PB about a month and a half ago...can I still get the rebate?

Never hurt to ask. But now I'm kind of wishing I would have waited.

I shoulda seen this coming. I ordered my 12" a month and a half ago. Now I'm iPodless. But I have one incredible machine here

I'm still slightly disappointed about the iPod thing though. Maybe I'll call and ask nicely
