Cynical Old Bastard

Ok Geniuses, help me out a bit here.
I have a Pismo 400 with DVD drive and a Ti500 with DVD drive that are doing some 'weird' audio things with DVD playback. I was playing the video with Apples DVD Player and VLC. Over the weekend, while I was stuck in the hospital doing the baby thing, I tried to play a DVD (Saving Private Ryan, Matrix, Bourne Identity and Gladiator) and listen via the headphone jack, but was unable to get the correct audio. When I played the DVD using the builtin speakers I could hear all the audio. When I played the DVD using the headphone jack I could hear all audio EXCEPT the main vocal track. I have also run into this problem with quite a few DVD's on my PB 12" 1.33. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the full audio through a powerbooks headphone jack. |

Almost sounds like multichannel sound tracks are getting dropped out the headphone jack. Try setting the audio in DVD Player to 'stereo' if you can. (Just a guess, don't even know if it's possible.)
